Several leading insurers say the easing of insurance sanctions on some Iranian oil exports is likely to take months to come into effect. The companies claim this is due to complex law and regulations in the United States and the European Union. They also say a formal change in EU, UK and US laws is needed to release insurers from existing prohibitions. A recent nuclear deal on Iran\'s nuclear energy program in Geneva allows an easing of a ban on European ship insurance companies that deal with Iran.
